Adventures in Hope Mills

This morning Hannah and I rode our bike to the park before it got too hot here. It was a pretty easy ride, it took me probably 6/7 minutes to get there. Then I let Hannah play for about 30 minutes before we headed back home. She had a blast going down the slide. I can't wait to go over there with David and let him check it out. Maybe if it's not raining when he gets home tonight, we'll walk over there.

Baby Back Ribs

Last night Casey and her husband, Matt, came over for dinner. We had some ribs left over from the night before, so we threw them back on the grill and set them out for an appetizer. Hannah decided she really liked them. There were probably 10 ribs left, Hannah had 6 of them! I think it's safe to say she liked them.

Paint toes

That's right. Saturday evening Hannah ran into the living to show Daddy her "paint toes." She had the nail polish with her, and her toe nails and toes were bright pink. He called me in there to inspect and then we both began the hunt for where she had painted her toes. Oddly enough, we couldn't find it. Like I said, it was pink toe nail polish, which would seemingly stand out on creme carpet. A little while later, I found a pink smudge on our couch, which came from Hannah crawling on the couch before her polish was dry. Many hours later, I used Hannah's bathroom and there it was. Three very small spots of pink polish on the tile floor. She sat on her stool in the bathroom and painted her toes. Overall, I think she did pretty good. This could've turned out much worse!

Party for one

Well, it's our first weekend on our own. David's sick with a sore/swollen throat and everyone else is busy doing things. So.......I just opened a bottle of Veramonte Cab Sav and am going to have a little party by myself. We just put a movie on from Netflix On Demand. We have is set up through David's XBox Live, which is the best thing ever. We are so over cable! David's up with me, he's just not able to enjoy this like I am. =) I'm having my wine from the special glasses we bought in Italy, life is grand. The only thing that would make this better is if someone could enjoy it with me!! But it's alright, I'm going to celebrate anyways. David did go to the doctor today and received some medicine, so hopefully he'll be able to party with me tomorrow. Moving in is going really smoothly. Most of our stuff is already here, unpacked and in place. Tonight, David and I sat on our front porch, meet one of our neighbors and people watched. It was pretty quiet, and there were lots of kids out running around, which makes me very happy. The neighbor we met seems really nice as well. Did I mention how happy I was? Hope everyone else is having a fantastic Friday evening.

For the first time homeowner

It's a wonderful thing. I feel so at peace, and so happy. I absolutely love my home. I feel so happy. We're getting settled in, and it feels so good. I believe we are exactly where God wants us to be and that is such a peaceful feeling. Of course I've found things about our new home that I don't like, my kitchen sink isn't big enough to accommodate how I do dishes, but nothing bothers me that much. Right now I'm sitting at my kitchen table, drinking coffee and listening to the birds chirp. Hannah's still sleeping and I'm just enjoying being here. By the way, unpacking amongst a two year old is so much fun! Thank you so much for all the prayers and well wishes. I can't wait for everyone to see it, I hope that you all get a chance to sit around our patio table and enjoy a glass of vino with us.
