More Rossi and Hannah

I tell ya, it is truly a circus around here. Rossi and Hannah are non stop. They spend all day running up and down the hallway and around the living room and kitchen. Rossi is normally chasing Hannah. They play tug of war. Last week, I found them both hanging out in Rossi's kennel. Hannah had her play phone and a couple other toys in there, and they were sitting side by side. When I asked Hannah what she was doing, she said she was playing in Rossi's house. When we get home from somewhere, she runs to the guest room to let Rossi. She squat down in the dorr way and say things like "C'mon on Rossi, c'mon." She rides him like a horse, and wraps her arms around his neck and lets him drag her. That's only just the beginning! Honestly though, I love it. He's doing pretty good with all the other training. He did dig up all my collard plants but Labs are known to be diggers, so it looks like I might have to live with some digging here and there. If that's the worst of it, I think I can handle it. This past weekend we took Rossi and Hannah for a walk. Hannah actually rode along in her wagon. Towards the end of the walk, we put Rossi in the wagon with Hannah, and they just sat there together.

It really is because of Hannah

Two days ago, David and I found ourselves at a local shelter, and consequently, bringing a dog home. Long before I ever got pregnant, I always said that David and I would be in trouble when we had a child that could ask for a pet. See, David and I are both suckers for animals and I knew we'd have a hard time saying no when our own child asked. So Tuesday morning we all wake up at the same time. Hannah wants to know where her "yellow bella" is, to which David and I just ignore. As David is leaving to go get a pack of cigarettes, Hannah looks at David and says "Daddy, are you going to get my doggie." And that was it. Hours later we found ourselves at a shelter in Raeford. We played with 6 different dogs, and this one was the one Hannah said she wanted to take home. Keep in mind, she was not mimicking David or me. We hadn't said any of these things. This dog was not even my first choice, but how could I compete with Hannah saying she wanted it! So meet Rossi, our 13 week old lab/rott mix.

NC Zoo

My mom's only birthday request (it's in two weeks) was that we all take a trip to the zoo together. So this past Sunday, we did just that. We got there as the zoo opened, at 9 am. Hannah was awake at just after 5 am, I think she was a little excited! She had a blast. She ran from exhibit to exhibit for the first hour. She liked all the monkeys; chimpanzee's, gorilla's, and so forth. She liked all the exhibit's that had underwater viewing. She really got a kick out of the otters but they were very active while she was at the underwater viewing of them. We made it through most of the zoo, about 3/4, before we decided to head home. As we were walking back to the car, about 2 pm, Hannah fell asleep in my arms. I decided not to put her down because I know those moments will soon be over. Of course she woke up as soon as we put her in her car seat and did not fall back asleep during the hour and a half ride home. She actually didn't go back to sleep until after 8 pm that night. I really don't know how she did it. So here's some photo's of our trip to the zoo.

J Lo Booty

Yesterday I went to my girlfriend Leah's house to celebrate her quitting a job that she hated. She's got an in-ground pool, so Hannah and I loaded up our bathing suits, and fresh mint (for mojito's) and headed over around noon. Hannah had a blast in the pool. I forgot her swimmer's diaper, so I had to put her in a regular diaper. Hence the J Lo booty. Her diaper was so soaked, and consequently heavy, that it was falling off her butt and dragging her bottoms with it. It was so funny to see her running around with half her crack showing. Of course she didn't care.
