Pumpkin Carving

Hannah was not a fan off the pumpkin guts.  And David did not take a photo of the final product, since I was at H&R Block when this occurred.  So, I'll post one later.

Playing Catch Up

A couple of days ago I posted the video of Hannah dancing. That video was taken last Saturday at my friend Amanda's wedding. Amanda and Kory, the couple that got married, are high school sweet hearts. I've known both of them since my high school days. Kory sat right beside me in Geometry class and Amanda was the only bright spot out of a horrible relationship I found myself in. I dumped him and kept her! Amanda was also a bridesmaid in my wedding. She was the tall one! When we first moved back to NC, when Hannah was 18 months old, we were all hanging out together and Amanda asked me if I thought Hannah was too young to be a flower girl. At the time, I said yeah, I think she might be. Fast forward to Amanda and Kory's engagement party, right after Hannah's 2nd birthday. Hannah was being Hannah. She's very comfortable around people as long as someone she trusts is around. So she was running around around, chatting it up with everyone. SItting in everyone's lap, helping herself to snacks. Amanda's asks again, and this time my answer is different. I think she can. So with very little training, and one long talk, she walked down that aisle, holding hands with the ring bearer. It was so precious. She did not throw any petals, and she did not hang out with the bridesmaids. However, Ethan was there and she really wanted to go play with him. Overall, she did great! Everyone, and I mean everyone, had something positive to say about her. Most people commented that she was the youngest flower girl they had ever seen and that she had done so well. Then the DJ came in, and that's where the video comes in. My little Hannah danced and danced, for hours. During the toast, she had to be barricaded by chairs to keep her off the dance floor while the dads were speaking. She danced with everyone, and really didn't want to dance with mommie. She had so much fun. And everyone was so accepting of her running around on the dance, it was great.

Okay, I can't get the photo's in the right order! Ugh, I have the hardest time formatting my posts on here, it's really starting ot bug me. Oh well. So Sunday David and I drove to the beach for the night, without Hannah. It was much harder on me than her, but David and I had a great time. While we were gone, she kept looking at my mom and randomly saying "My daddy's a cop." So David and I decided we would take her to Build A Bear so she could build a cop bear. On Tuesday night, we did just that. Hannah was so funny. You'll notice that our cop bear is camo print. We took Hannah in and told her to pick out whatever animal she wanted and she immediately pointed to the camo bear. Well, as David pointed out to me, the camo bear would look a little funny in a cop uniform. So David tried to get Hannah to get another one, subtlety of course! He walked her up and down her options a couple times pointing out other ones, asking her if she wanted that one instead. Nothing. He finally relented, realizing that the one she wanted was the camo one. The stuffing machine and the washing machine intimidated Hannah a little but once David showed her how it worked, she was fine. It was a small process to herd her past teh strollers, skirts, shoes and etc for the bears. I told David that Sarge, the cop bear, may be unisex as I may buy girly stuff for him for Hannah at christmas. She really liked the tutu's! As we were standing in line to pay, I saw her rubbing the badge on his chest, she looked up and me and said "That's his badge."

Almost 30

Yes, that's right. I am not 28, I am almost 30!!! Kinda freaky for a girl who can still remember feeling awkward in high school. I asked for one thing for my birthday, to blow out candles on a birthday cake. I haven't done that in all the time I've known David and for some reason I really wanted to do it. David obliged. He did get a few items for me, all things I wanted. Let's see: running shoes, gloves for my spinning class and a new book. I joked about where David and I must be in our relationship when the things I get as gifts are things I would get anyways; i.e. running shoes. It's perfect though. The evening of my birthday David and a handful of friends sang Happy Birthday to me and made me blow out 28 candles! I could've done with just a 2 and an 8! It was fun. I love where I am in my life even though I am not where I thought I would be.
