Organic Gardening

Here's a post I did on my other blog.  It's pretty long, so I don't want to redo it. ; )

St Patty's Day and cornhole

On St Patrick's Day, Michelle, Dustin, Josh, Leah, Casey and Ethan came over.  We have lots of green food, including some irish grilled cheese sandwiches and some dill cucumber slices that were so good!  Dustin and Michelle experienced cornhole for the first time.  Later, Dustin made Irish car bombs for everyone.  I don't recall if I have ever had an Irish a car bomb before and they were much better than I expected it to be.  It had a nice chocolate finish.  I don't know how I've gotten this far in life and not had an Irish car bomb!  However, my personal trainer who I love so much, made me pay dearly for that Irish car bomb the next day!

A Sunday Reflection

This photo was taken two years ago, on St Patrick's Day.  Vivian and Hannah are 10 months old and Lem is 9 months.  We missed you this St Patty's Day Lem!

This St Patty's Day.

They're hugging behind that fence.

Two peas in a pod, or rather, two girls on a fence.  Or, as Hannah said, in the baby cage.  Thanks Michelle!

A beautiful, and very functional new bed for us

If David had gone through another deployment, this would have been our next purchase.  The bedroom set we had was passed to us from Amy and Tom, and while it meet our needs it was a few (15 maybe) years old.  And it was starting to look it!  David and I don't have a big bedroom so we decided to find a bed that would include storage as well.  We managed to find a gorgeous piece at Haverty's and with two new pieces we were able to remove all other furniture from our bedroom.  David told me that he never thought he'd have a bed like this, which made it completely worthwhile.  It was delivered and set up this past Saturday, and I can't stop looking at it!  Our bedroom looks bigger.  It's got these awesome omni-directional lights on the headboard for reading, and small night lights under each pier.  There's tons of storage space, to include built in jewelry compartments.  And I swear, our mattress is more comfortable on the platform bed.  I opted for pictures from the website so that you could see the whole bed in one picture.

We also got the chest you see in this picture.  So these are the
only two items in our bedroom now.

Hannah's new bed

Oh my gosh, between work and school and Contact, and then a nasty stomach bug, I feel so behind!  Things are moving along here in the Cernock household.  Hannah is potty trained, woohoo!  And we start the addition on our house in just a couple of weeks.  I can't believe how fast things are moving.  I'm so excited to see the house as it progresses.  In preparation, David and I have been organizing and going through all our stuff.  We spent all day last Thursday in the garage and I have to say that it looks great.  It's all organized and clean and functional.  David's very pleased with it.  We put up a fence in the backyard for my garden area.  We also bought a couple things for Hannah.  We bought her a Tinkerbell canopy bed, an art desk and an outdoor playhouse.   Here's some pictures of her new stuff.

9 Pines, all gone

I can't tell you how great it is.  On average, David and I could pull 20 to 25 bags of pine straw from the backyard.  We had a total of 13 pines, now we have two.  Our yard looks so much bigger, and better.  We've got a guy coming out to help prep the soil for sod.  We've got a patch picked out for my garden.  Ahh, it's just so much better.
