Puzzle time

That's what it's been around here for the last week or so.  We started last weekend, tackling a 1000 piece puzzle we bought months ago.  We like doing puzzles with the intention of framing then, so we always pick out ones we would like to frame.  This actually started in Italy.  We did a Winnie the Pooh scene for Hannah's room and a puzzle of Venice at sunset.

Hannah wanted to help put this one together.
In retrospect, it wasn't a good idea.  More
on that later.

Finishing it up.  It took two days.  And two sore
necks.

It may be hard to see, but at the bottom, about a third from the
closest corner in the picture, is a missing puzzle piece.  That's right, our
1000 piece puzzle only has 999.  We think little helping hands may have misplaced the
puzzle piece.

Our current puzzle, Rosie the Riveter.  It's a 500 piece puzzle, but it's small.

This is the one we did, mostly David, yesterday.  I put together the boy and then
I got a headache and laid down while David did the rest.  This is Norman
Rockwell's The Runaway.

This is out next project, another 1000 piece.  This is the same brand as the
one at the top of the page, just a different scene.  We have one more like this, of a
bicycle theme.

We're behind on framing.  The first three are going to go in the kitchen.  I don't know where this bottom one is going to go yet.

An update on Sebastian

David calls him a hamster with personality.  He is certainly spunky.  Yesterday I had him out in the morning with me, before everyone woke up, and he jumped from the chair  into the Christmas tree, which was right behind the chair.  His noises have become louder and he definitely wants attention when we're in Hannah's room.  I have to say, I really like Sebastian.
Hiding in David's Uniform

This picture CRACKS ME UP!  He's
hiding in the headboard.

In his cage.  He runs laps.  I guess we're
all runners in this family.

All the animals have met him.  Lucky doesn't care about him.
Rossi really wants to play with him.  Domino wants
to eat him.

Standing up.

A couple days ago we saw him hopping.  We've all seen him jump from the bottom of his cage to the second part.  And like I mentioned early, he runs laps up, down and around his cage.  He's entertaining.

Snow, the day after Christmas

I think mother nature forgot where we live!  As the weathermen predicted 6+ inches of snow, I laughed.  We don't get that much snow here.  Besides weathermen occasionally predict it, but it's rare that we actually get it.  So I didn't pay any attention to all that talk.  And laughed when I thought about the people running out to get last minute bread and milk.  Because that's what you do when they call for snow in the south - you panic.  As nature would have it, I was wrong.  It just so happens that we got over 6 inches.  I was all excited to take hannah out and make snow angels and snow cream and then come in and have hot chocolate.  I wanted to attempt my first snowman.  Hannah's been in snow a few times, and has always had fun.

Our backyard

Rossi in the snow.  He kept trying to eat it
as it was falling.

She's perplexed by how to get the snow
off her gloves.

This picture just makes me laugh!

I'm really not sure what's Hannah is
doing in this picture.

Cheese!

After he came home from a slow day at work, which he was so
happy for, he shoveled.  Bet he never thought he'd be shoveling
snow in Fayetteville!

She had a litte trouble figuring out how to walk in the snow.  It confused her and she kept trying to step over it rather than walk through it.  I made a snow angel but couldn't get Hannah to make one.  I also attempted a snow man, but having never made one, and not having anyone to assist, made it a goal I was not able to accomplish.  I couldn't get the second part of the snowman to form.  I later learned, from David, that I should've flattened the first ball out on the top.  Hannah lasted about 20  minutes outside.  Then she told me that her face was freezing. So we went inside and had hot chocolate with marshmallows.  I didn't get around to making the snow cream.
