Banzai Big Curve

This is the giant pool we borrowed from a friend.  We borrowed it because we are thinking about getting something very similar to it.  The on going debate is who will be the person that ends of taking care of it.  Right now, I'm the one who fills/cleans/empties the other pool we have.  Last year David bought a pool he was all excited about and the excitement last about 12 hours!  So I'm really skeptical about getting a pool this big(expensive) only to have it become my chore.  I'm perfectly content with Hannah's little plastic pool.  David SWEARS that he'll take care of it.  So part of the reason we're borrowing it is so that I can what this all means for me.  We probably will get the one we like, this one: Banzai Falls Water Park.

I must admit, it's a lot of fun.  I went down the slide a couple of times yesterday.  Hannah loves it.  It's just something we can all have fun in together.  I like her other pool, but it's too small for an adult to really have fun in.  Right now, we're enjoying the one we have.  I'm holding out for no rain today, there's a 40% chance of isolated thunderstorms, so that we can enjoy today.  

Putting things together

It's taken us months this time, to put together the baby items.  Two large items, the bassinet and the stroller got put together yesterday.  Baby items sure are large!

Hannah wanted to push it.  David didn't believe that it would fit our car seat.  So that's why our car seat is sitting on it.  

Now all we need is the baby.  

Strawberry Picking

Last weekend Hannah and I went to a local strawberry farm to pick some strawberries.  I wanted to get a bunch so that I could freeze them.  Michelle picked strawberries about a week before and brought me 5 jars of strawberry preserves (syrup ; )) so I wasn't going to do that, just freeze them to have throughout the year.  I used to go pick strawberries with my grandma at this farm.

Surprisingly, she didn't eat any.  She was red from head to toe when we finished.  We picked 2 buckets full.  As we were leaving, Hannah spilled the one she was carrying in the sand.  I just scooped them back up in our bucket.  The guy at the stand offered to let me pick some more that were not covered in sand  but I explained that it was no big deal.  I soaked and rinsed them a few times when I got home, before I did anything with them.  We got about 9 lbs of strawberries and I froze all but about 1 pound.  

The next day I made homemade strawberry muffins with the preserves Michelle brought me.  I should've taken pictures of them!  I used a pretty basic strawberry muffin recipe, but left out the sugar and just dumped the preserves in.  I figured the preserves would have enough sugar to make the muffins sweet.  My guess was dead on, they were so good.  They were super moist and yummy.  My sunday school class really enjoyed them.
