Happy Birthday Hannah

Remember this baby:

I sure do.  She was 6 pounds of awesomeness.  And she changed my life.  And her dads.

The sweet baby that didn't like the way grass felt, and would not crawl on it.  Unless forced, and then we all laughed at how funny she looked raying not to touch the grass.

The baby who had her diaper changed on the streets of Venice.

She was such a sweet baby.

And now, she's a sweet 8 year old.

Here's some pictures I snapped of her opening her gifts the morning of her birthday.

We had her party on the 3rd.

She got some puzzle type games and some books.

She received some money.  With that she got a stencil kit and a jewelry making kit.

And she received this jewelry box, that my dad made for her.

She liked everything she received.  She didn't get any books that she already had, which is great!  She's already read, or at least started reading, most of the books she got.

Here's to an unstoppable future sweet Hannah.

A Night at the Creek

A couple weeks ago, we spent an evening at the creek with my dad.  He recently acquired a go cart that he's working on, to get back in good running order, for the girls to play with.  It runs now, but still needs some minor repairs.  At the time of the picture, it did not run.  The girls managed to have fun with it regardless of it's not running status.

Visits to Bayside drive would not be complete without 4 Wheeler rides.

Hannah and Grandpa fried some deer meat.

My happy boy.

I love this picture, and those goobers.

More go cart play.

Hannah, playing around in the barn.

Riley, playing in the barn.  Her play consisted of picking up handfuls of sawdust and throwing them up in the air, over her head.  She had a bath that morning.

The after effects of saw dust throwing.

Grandpa and Joshua, with similar, solemn, expressions.

These next four photo's are what Hannah's truck looks like now.

This is what it will look like.

My dad does have the body, it's just outside of the barn so that he could more easily work on it.

Scenes from Christmas

Christmas morning this year went much like christmas mornings of the past: with David and I pondering how long we're going to let the kids sleep!  I thought this might be the year Hannah woke us up, but it wasn't.
They eventually wandered out just before 8.

Grandpa Davis, Grandma Moon and Papa Tom were all here to share christmas morning with girls.

Santa brought Riley a train set.

Santa brought Hannah a bath robe and slippers. The bath robe is a huge hit, Hannah has worn it everyday since receiving it.

Santa also brought Riley that lion, because she loves lions so much.

David and I got her Pitch Perfect and a Where's Waldo book.  She sat down to do her Where's Waldo last night and found him 4 different times with relative ease!

Grandpa Davis gave Riley a Sofia the First Doll.  She came with animals and they talk to each other.

Here's Grandpa putting together Hannah's Fluttershy doll.  It flies, which amuses both girls.

After opening, the kids just explored all their new toys.  Both girls enjoyed the train.

Riley received some finger paints, along with finger paint paper.  So she spent some time finger painting while Hannah put together her new lego's.

It was a lego Christmas for Hannah.  She received a bunch from her Great Grandma Davis, Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Brandy.
Santa also brought her the police station.

Joshua received a couple of ball caps from Santa and some Monsters University slippers.  He was so excited he couldn't get his eyes open.  And neither could Grandma Moon.

Riley, with a travel art thing.

Hannah also received Scrabble Flash, which is a great game.  All of us adults enjoyed playing a few round while the kids were occupied with other toys.

We ended our evening with a fantastic meal cooked entirely by David: prime rib, sauteed green beans and oven crisp potatoes.  He cooked everything perfectly and it was a great meal!

Some random photos

This was taken last Sunday, at church.  In Riley's hand you can see nino.  I don't know how this piece of fabric came to be known as nino but it is an essential part of Riley's life.  We have to have it all the time.  Honestly, it can be a little stressful! : /

This was a few weeks ago, I snapped a picture of Hannah doing the dishes.  It's not a routine chore for her to do dishes, but she does them sometimes.  Right now, her routine chores are making sure the cats have food and water, making her bed, and picking up her toys daily.  We also just added doing her own laundry.  She can also make coffee, with the Senseo, toast her own bagels and work the microwave.

More throwing.  She loves to "throw ball."

This was last Friday night.  We had the pleasure of going out to my dads for dinner.  Hannah rode on the front loader, to help my dad organize his massive burn pile.  After dinner, we all watched it burn.

That's Hannah in there, with my dad, making adjustments.  She said she had to cover her face when they got that close to the fire because it was so hot.

And another one of Riley and me from church.

Christmas Festivities

Note to readers: moving during the Christmas season is rough.  You have so much to accomplish from moving, and you have christmas visiting requirements, which make for a SUPER busy holiday season.

Ours started with my Grandma Davis' house on the 23rd..
The photo's are all a little blurry in spots but they're the only ones I have.
Cousins, aunts and uncles.

My dad, helping Hannah.

Riley, with my grandma and aunt, in her christmas best.

Hannah, getting her nails done by my cousin.

After we left my grandma's we went home and pulled in the driveway at the same time as David's dad.  David had to work on Christmas Eve; when he got home we piled in the car and went to my mom's for dinner and gifts.  Hannah, in more of her Christmas best.  This is actually an outfit my mom and Art got for Hannah last christmas.

Me and momma

Dinner, yum. ; )  I took this picture to send it to my sister; ham, butter beans, corn casserole, tomato pie and mashed potatoes.  To make her jealous.  It worked.  And then I stuffed myself.

Riley, being uncooperative.

Ready to open gifts, especially Hannah.

I don't even know......

Grandpa Bob being silly with Hannah's reindeer antlers.

The Merida wig.

Red looks good on Grandpa.

The complete Merida outfit.

My leftovers.  Another picture I took to send to my sister.
